So with less filter media surface area, the filter would clog up quicker. However, since this is washable, maybe that's a moot point. I also noticed on my Hyundai Tucson, the rim of this filter must be slighter thicker because I had a tougher time clipping the filter box closed with this one installed. I am keeping my OEM for now, just in case.
