About Echeveria 'Red Rose'

Echeveria 'Red Rose' is a succulent variety that falls under the Echeveria genus, part of the Crassulaceae plant family. Its leaves are thick, with triangular-shaped tips, forming a beautiful, loosely packed rosette. When thriving, the leaves turn a striking shade of red like a stunning rose, making it incredibly eye-catching. That's why it's called ‘Red Rose.’

How to care for Echeveria 'Red Rose'

Sun: To care for Echeveria 'Red Rose' in terms of sunlight, it thrives in bright, indirect light. Place the succulent plant in a location where it receives partial to full sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day. However, protecting it from intense, direct sunlight is essential, especially during the hottest parts of the day. Prolonged exposure to intense sunlight can result in sunburn and harm the plant leaves. Finding a balance between adequate light and protection is key to keeping your Echeveria 'Red Rose' healthy and vibrant.

Temperature: Echeveria 'Red Rose' prefers moderate to warm climates. This particular plant thrives in USDA hardiness zones 9 to 11, and thrives when daytime temperatures fall within the range of 65°F to 80°F. It can tolerate slightly cooler temperatures down to 50°F at night, but avoiding exposing it to freezing temperatures is essential. Protect succulent plants from frost and extreme cold, as prolonged exposure to low temperatures can cause damage or even kill the succulent. Maintaining a temperature within its preferred range will help ensure Echeveria 'Red Rose' health and vitality.

Soil: It's essential to provide a well-draining medium. Use a cactus and succulent potting mix, or make your own soil by combining regular potting soil with perlite or bonsai rocks. This mixture promotes proper drainage and prevents waterlogging, which can lead to root rot. Ensure that the succulent planter has drainage holes to allow excess water to escape. When repotting, use a container slightly larger than the current one to allow room for growth. Avoid burying the plant's stem too deep in the soil, leading to moisture-related issues.

Watering: Water Echeveria 'Red Rose' sparingly to avoid overwatering. Make sure to wait until the potting soil is entirely dry before proceeding with the next watering, ensuring thorough drying between each watering cycle and sufficient drying time between each watering session. Water live succulents every 1-2 weeks during the active growth season, adjusting based on your climate. In the dormant period, water once every 3-4 weeks. Remember that it's better to underwater than overwater. Observe the leaves for signs of hydration, and adjust the watering accordingly.

Propagation: To propagate through leaves, gently twist or cut off a healthy leaf from the main plant. Allow the leaves to dry and callus for a few days to prevent rot. Once calloused, place the leaf on well-draining soil or a propagation mix, ensuring the injured end is slightly buried. Mist the soil occasionally to maintain moisture, but be careful not to overwater. After a few weeks, new roots and baby plants will emerge from the base of the leaf. Now, you can separate the buds and transplant them into their new planter pots. If you want to get the full guide, click here to learn how to propagate succulents from leaves.

So much fun
Style: Flying Glow Squirrel
My shepherd loves this thing. He is a true fiend for a frisbee or ball and this is his new favorite toy. He will carry it around just to do so, and that’s a new thing for him. It’s soft which is good for my poor hands, yet it’s durable and stands up to the tests he throws at it. It flies well and hasn’t warped no matter what it’s hit. No tears through any of the chewing yet either. Good size toy that gives hours and hours of fun for the most playful and silly doggos out there!

Beloved dog toy now in glow in the dark canvas.
Style: Flying Glow Squirrel
This is a great frisbie style product with the advantage of glow in the dark visibility. My German Shepherd has been retrieving the original Chuckits for 5 years. They fly through the air and have the advantage of curved design which allows a dog to slide their mouth under it easily when it is on the ground. Awesome dog toy that my dog never tires of. Heavy duty canvas design for durability and washability when it gets muddy.

Great, tough, and will not break your dog’s teeth!
Style: Giggle Fumble
I am the aunt of several different types of dogs and they all love the giggle toys. The problem with most of them is that they are hard to Plastic (I guess so the dog doesn’t bite into the giggle box and disable it). Every pup I know is crazy about the giggle toys, but I’m always afraid they’ll break teeth. This one is very tough material but not hard so that your dog could bite down on it and enjoy the giggle.

Perfect for strong chewers!
Style: EcoFetch
Best balls for dogs who love to tear up toys. My pup tore up regular tennis balls but he can’t tear these up and he loves to just chew them. Will always buy these for our fur baby!

Beagle’s Best Friend
Style: Super Crunch Stick, Style: Super Crunch Stick
This is my dog’s favorite toy! We’ve had it for about 6 months now. She plays with it and chews on it every single day. She takes it everywhere. Despite all her rough housing with it, it is still completely intact, so it is extremely durable! Love this thing! We call it her “crunchy carrot”
