The Wilier Filante SL Ultegra Di2 Bike exists because of a simple idea: the aerodynamic performance developed for WorldTour racing shouldn't require a WorldTour budget. Wilier built the Filante SLR to win races at the highest level of professional cycling — and the Filante SL takes that same frame architecture, the same geometry, the same racing posture, and recalibrates the carbon lamination for riders who want genuine aero speed without the SLR's uncompromising stiffness. The result is a race bike that's faster than it has any right to be at this price, with just under 150 grams of additional frame weight separating it from the bike that professionals race in the world's biggest events.

That weight difference isn't a downgrade — it's a deliberate engineering choice. The NHU MOD+ High Impact Strength carbon used in the Filante SL's monocoque frame and fork produces a structure that's measurably more compliant than the SLR's, absorbing road chatter on long efforts without sacrificing the aerodynamic profile that defines the Filante line. The frame weighs 1,010 grams for a painted size M. And because Wilier designed the SL to share the SLR's metal components — the seatpost, spacers, top cover, dropout — the fit and feel between the two bikes is remarkably close. You're getting the same cockpit geometry, the same thru-axle Speed Release design, and the same silhouette that Wilier's WorldTour riders use in the peloton.

The cockpit tells that story clearly. The Z-Bar Integrated Carbon handlebar and stem are a single unit with fully internal cable routing — no external housing, no visible brake lines, nothing interrupting the clean lines that make the Filante family identifiable from a distance. Cables pass through Wilier's proprietary superthin headset bearing, an engineered detail the company developed in-house and doesn't sell on the open market. It's the kind of specification you expect on bikes that cost considerably more. Paired with Shimano Ultegra Di2 electronic shifting — one of the most reliable and precise drivetrains in cycling — the Filante SL is a complete aero road bike ready for race day or a hard training block the moment it arrives.

Design Benefits

  1. WorldTour aero architecture, retuned for real riders. The Filante SL shares its geometry, silhouette, and aerodynamic profile with the SLR — Wilier's top-end race bike. The change in carbon lamination adds just under 150g to the frame while producing a more compliant ride character suited to training days, gran fondos, and amateur racing.
  2. Fully integrated cockpit with proprietary bearing technology. The Z-Bar one-piece carbon cockpit routes all cables internally through Wilier's superthin headset bearing — an in-house design not available on the open market. The result is a clean front end with no aerodynamic disruption and no external cable management to deal with.
  3. Shimano Ultegra Di2 12-speed electronic shifting. The R8150/R8170 groupset delivers the kind of crisp, consistent shifting that used to be reserved for Dura-Ace builds. Hydraulic disc brakes with 160/140mm rotors provide strong, modulated stopping power in any conditions.
  4. Miche SWR EVO 50 wheelset. The 50mm deep-section carbon wheels strike a useful balance between aerodynamic efficiency and crosswind manageability — fast enough to matter in a group ride or race, stable enough for everyday training.
  5. Electronic and disc-only configuration. Wilier designed the Filante SL exclusively for electronic shifting and disc brakes. That's not a limitation — it's a commitment to a build that performs consistently and pairs correctly with the integrated cockpit and frame design.

Final Take

The Wilier Filante SL is an aero road bike for riders who want race geometry and genuine aerodynamic performance without stepping into the SLR's price bracket. It's built in Italy, equipped with one of the best electronic drivetrains on the market, and rolls on 50mm carbon wheels. For anyone looking for a capable, fast race bike that doesn't ask you to compromise on the things that matter most — frame quality, shifting precision, and aerodynamic intent — the Filante SL Ultegra Di2 is a serious machine at a considered price.

Cheap and pretty comfortable, but poor adjustment functions.
Color: Black
Chair is pretty comfortable, wheels are solid and it holds height well. Biggest issue is the lean lock, even when engaged the chair does not hold an upright position, so if you're like me and prefer sitting relatively straight, this chair does not offer much support when doing so. Not bad for the price, but I would generally look elsewhere unless you don't care much for adjustment.

Pretty nice. Good price for a good quality chair.
Color: Black
Nice overall. Decent back support, but not really much going on there. Very sturdy chair and is comfortable. The adjustments are just enough to make it good. I would buy it again. rolls great. Easy to put together. perfect adjustable height. It works for my son who is around 5', my wife who is 5' 3 and also me and I am 5' 10.

Comfortable and good quality
Color: Black
This is a great chair value. It’s easy to assemble, height adjustable, and comfortable to sit on. It has a good seat cushion and firm back support. I really recommend this product. And I just ordered another one for my wife’s sewing table because she tried to steal mine.

Inexpensive and decent, without any negative qualities.
Color: Black
Easy assembly with spare parts and the one important tool: the allen wrench that tightens those bolts. The instructions were clear and the parts well marked in the blister-package that is sturdy enough that cutting through the edges of the clear plastic bubbles to get at the parts with scissors is the best method to avoid having to chase the small parts when they fly out of the ruptured package. This chair uses the "New" kind of roller which is larger than the old ones and I was able to replace the standard tandem wheels with the super-slick roller blade type that are much faster and easier to maneuver. I'm sitting in the chair now as I type and it's very comfortable, even if the back isn't adjustable. The mesh back is much better for the Summer here (where it gets really hot!) and is more flexible than the basic upholstered chair back, so it fits and conforms. The one it replaced had been reworked several times and it was still too small with the back not correctly aligned, it had fallen apart anyway and was easier to throw away in small pieces.

Better Than Expected
Color: Black, Color: Black
Initial impressions: The chair is better quality than I expected. The seat material is nice: feels firm but soft; better than those seats with faux leather. So far, it is comfortable even for being over 200 lb and over 6 feet tall. Many parts are sturdy metal, which is much better than plastic. The base that holds the wheels may be a form of plastic, but it is dense and feels strong; almost like metal. The chair frame appears to be a firm plastic too, but not thin, so my initial thought is it will last. It has a buffed texture [not shiny or smooth -- which to me is nice, because it makes it look and feel more solid and not cheap. The one weak point in design, in my opinion, is the cover that fits over the raising post: it feels a bit flimsy. Regardless, it probably wouldn't be noticeable to most unless they get down on the floor and squeeze it. Nevertheless, that there is a cover that raises and lowers like a telescope-- to "hide" the post, is a nice added attribute. A customer could leave the that cover off if they prefer, but I like it. I appreciate that the casters stay in place (unlike the other chair I tested: the KK Toner Round Rolling Stool, whose wheels do not stay in place). This makes it possible to lift the chair without fear of dropping casters. The casters are replaceable too, which is good. I was able to use Lifelong brand casters, instead, which are purportedly safe for hardwood and marble floors. The seat is stationary once attached. It is mostly upright [not leaning back]. Even with its mesh backing it is firm. This is not a plush, rocking chair type of product, yet it is comfortable. Instructions: As seems to be the new trend, they were mostly pictures without words. Regardless, putting the chair together was quite easy. Just make sure you doube check the front versus back of the seat -- this is important for setting the metal lift connector in place. And, don't forget to put the holding ring and washer on the screws. They add an extra screw for the connector, and an extra screw, washer, and pressure ring for the back attachment. That was a pleasant surprise; and is appreciated. The raising and lowering mechanism works well. You can sit on the chair while lowering it; it seems best to get off the chair while raiding it. It lowers to where the seat is 28 inches off the floor. It rises to 22.5". The seat is 17.5" wide x 16.25" front to back [the assembled chair is 18.5" front to back]. The back rest top to the floor is 34". The wheel base is about 20" at its widest point, before adding the wheel casters. With their standard wheels the width is about 21" to 21.5". With the Lifelong brand wheels, it will have a width of 21" to 22.5", depending on how the rotating wheel base is turned. All in all, a good experience. As I wrote, these are my initial impressions [I've only had the chair one day]. My intention is to use it daily as a dining chair. I will add to this review as time goes by [e.g., in ~ six months], to indicate how well this product does long-term and with moderately heavy use. I'd appreciate seeing more former reviewers do the same.
